Why do we like bondage? I don't know, and I don't really want to get into the psychology of it, but I guess it goes something along the lines of relinquishing control combined with the feel of being restrained.

For me, the bondage must be very tight and totally inescapable; but this is not the case for everyone! Whilst you can use cheap and easily obtainable materials (rope, cling film etc.) I have a total gear fetish and much prefer the look and feel of deticated bdsm gear:

Rope	Any old rope will do, but for rope work that's in direct contact with the skin a good cotton rope that lies flat is best. You can get it in white or black and in varying thicknesses. Strangely, magic stores & suppliers are often good places to get hold of that nice white stuff. » MEO » XR
Handcuffs	Don't, buy those cheap nasty ones from "sex shops". They can potentially close further once "locked" on (despite any advertised double locking mechanism) and the locks can also jam causing a mildly embarassing callout to the fire service. Personally I feel that rope or wrist restraints work just as well, but if you want cuffs, buy some expensive ones. » MEO
Your bed	By tying the arms and legs to each bed post, you have a fairly immovable sub. You can also get devices that fit under the matress and provide discrete tie points. » XR

Tape & cling film	Use cling film (saran wrap), duck tape or Vetrap (a self-adhesive veterinary bandage is lots of different colours) for mummification. » Vetrap on ebay

Use your imagination - it keeps you interested and it certainly leaves you sub wondering what's coming next, however, to get you started, here are some of the more classic bondage positions:

• The hogtie:
  Start with the sub on his front, then tie his wrists and ankes together (either with rope or with restraints), then pull his arms behind and attach the wrists to the ankles. Easy! You have direct access to his arse, can fuck his face and if you're careful you can bend his cock from under him and play with that too!
• Duck tape mummification:
  With the sub standing up (preferably near a bed), feet together and arms by his sides, wrap just one layer of cling film around him. This is just top stop the duck tape sticking. Then, starting, at the top neatly layer the duck tape all around the body working downwards. Around the genital area, cut small strips rather than continually applying the tape. When you get to just below the knees, lower the sub gently onto the bed, so the feet stick off the end and finish those off.
